Drones: The impacts and opportunities for property owners & developers

What are the opportunities for the property industry?

Unmanned aircraft systems, also known as drones, are set to revolutionise how we travel and how products reach their final destinations. Ultimately, it will redefine how we interact with our built environment. This new technology will affect all property asset classes and will have an indiscriminate effect on property owners of developed and greenfield land. Property owners could capitalise on the drone revolution by installing and facilitating drone infrastructure on their land and buildings and through their airspace.

With that in mind, we are delighted to host a virtual panel discussion geared specifically towards property owners and property developers and their respective advisors on Wednesday, 21 April 2021.

Our panel of industry experts will discuss:

  • How drones are currently being used by the property industry
  • How drones will change our transport and logistics industries and the impact this will have on our built environment
  • The current challenges
  • How property owners can prepare for the drone revolution and the opportunities opening up to landowners through increasing demand for drone infrastructure

The panel will be chaired by Construction Partner, Navpreet Atwal and Senior Associate, Sophie Henwood and will feature specialists and experts from across the drones industry, specifically:

Bryce Allcorn – Consortiq
Gareth Whatmore – DronePrep
Gill Eaton – Iceni
Kevin Duckers – IDU Group
Peter Folwell – Plowman & Craven
James Bircumshaw – Skyports
Tom Cherrett – Transportation Research Group, University of Southampton
