Boodle Hatfield named ‘International Legal Team of the Year (midsize firm)’ at the annual Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Awards 2022.

We are delighted to announce that Boodle Hatfield has been awarded 'International Legal Team of the Year (midsize firm)' at the annual Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Awards 2022.

Hayden Bailey, Clare Stirzaker, Emily Brand, Laurence Morgan and James Woods-Davison collected the award at the STEP ceremony on 13 December at London Hilton on Park Lane, where the firm was shortlisted for ‘Contentious Trusts and Estates Team of the Year (midsize firm)’; ‘Family Business Advisory Practice of the Year’; ‘International Legal Team of the Year (midsize firm)’ and ‘Private Client Legal Team of the Year (midsize firm)’.

The ‘International Legal Team of the Year’ category was made up of a strong set of finalists, with Boodle Hatfield shortlisted alongside Carey Olsen, Homburger, Wedlake Bell and Kobre & Kim.

The judges noted that “Boodle Hatfield has managed to balance tradition, legacy, continuity and innovation and its successful ‘one stop shop’ approach has become the aspirational template for its competitors.”

STEP is the worldwide professional association for those advising families across generations and the awards are seen as the hallmark of quality within the private client sector, recognising and celebrating excellence among private client lawyers, accountants, barristers, bankers, trust managers and financial advisers. Now in its 17th year, the awards saw a record number of nominations, with 337 submissions received across 27 countries.

The award win culminates a successful year for the firm’s private wealth team with a series of incredible achievements, including an uplift to tier one in Legal 500 UK 2023. The recognition also comes as the firm celebrates its 300th year anniversary – a significant milestone that looks ahead at continuing to shape its activities to benefit future generations, clients and communities across the world.
