Boodle Hatfield strengthens Private client & tax team with partner hire

Law firm Boodle Hatfield has strengthened its private client & tax team with the appointment of new partner Kyra Motley.

Kyra joins Boodle Hatfield on Wednesday 23rd May from Taylor Wessing and brings to the firm expertise in multi-jurisdictional wealth planning, international tax and trusts, succession planning and family governance for high and ultra-high net worth individuals and their families with a particularly strong track record in advising individuals and families from the Middle East.

Commenting on her appointment, Kyra said: “Boodle Hatfield is widely recognised for its long-standing reputation as one of the leading law firms for the world’s wealthiest families. Its Middle Eastern private office, which combines award-winning property, corporate and private client expertise, provides a first-class service to families from the MENA region. This blend of leading private wealth expertise coupled with a depth of focus on the Middle East makes this is an exciting move for me and I look forward to developing my career as a partner in the firm.”

Andrea Zavos, partner and head of private client and tax at the Firm said: “Kyra is one of the rising stars in the private wealth legal market. We are thrilled to have her join the firm and to build on our growing Middle East practice. She will be a real asset to the firm and to its clients.”

Boodle Hatfield’s Middle East practice, led by partners Shaima Jillood and Salpy Kouyoumjian, offers a full service to Middle Eastern clients with a clear understanding of the cultural demands of Middle Eastern individuals and their family offices. They have a strong track record of advising on issues from structuring and preserving wealth to advising on the residential and commercial real estate markets in the UK and the tax implications for overseas investors.

Sara Maccallum, Boodle Hatfield’s Senior Partner adds: “The firm continues to build and invest in our key areas through strategic hires and we are delighted to welcome Kyra to our Private Client and Tax team. Our focus remains on continuing to grow the firm by providing first class legal advice in our key markets of private wealth and property.”

Kyra is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was named in 2016 and 2017 as one of ePrivateClient’s 35 Under 35.
