The shortlist is based on market position, competitive challenges, growth and strategy, whilst also reviewing the firm’s innovation in client service delivery, leadership and technology, investment in talent, commitment to ESG and excellence in legal practice.
The recognition comes as the firm concludes its 300th year anniversary – a significant milestone that looked ahead to build upon the firms heritage. Over the last three centuries, the firm has helped clients navigate the impact of revolutions – both industrial and political – market crashes, social upheaval and technological innovation, providing expert guidance for families, businesses, and communities. Today, the firm focuses on continuing to shape its activities to the benefit of future generations of staff, clients and communities, as building a legacy is about so much more than trading on a name.
Each year, The Lawyer Awards reward practices across 27 different categories with an aim to champion innovation, spearhead leaders and celebrate excellence across the legal industry, including the best of the Bar and in-house legal community. Over 400 entries were made in 2023 from 153 organisations. The winners of each category will be announced in at The Lawyer Awards on 20 June at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.
