Mayfair Art Weekend: Opening the doors to Art in Mayfair

Written by

Mayfair Art Weekend is back for 2022 and in its ninth year, the programme will open the doors to art in Mayfair between 24–26 June 2022.

Mayfair Art Weekend (MAW) is an annual celebration of the world’s internationally renowned gallery district which takes place on the last weekend of June, with an extended programme of free events including the Mayfair Sculpture Trail in collaboration with Art in Mayfair; a curated artists’ moving image screening and the May Fair Showreel. There is a full programme of family friendly events, talks and trails to follow as well as a whole range of exhibitions to visit across Mayfair, Marylebone, Soho, St James’ and Fitzrovia.

Some of the event highlights include:

  • The Gallery Safari on Thursday 23 June will launch the weekend. The Safari delivers an evening of art exploration, as guests journey through some of London’s finest art galleries, followed by dinner at The Colony Grill Room at The Beaumont Hotel.
  • The Gallery HOP! will be returning on the Friday night when galleries in Mayfair and the West End open their doors to the public until late.
  • On Sunday 26 June, the third May Fair Showreel will be dedicated to the work of moving image artists, to take place in the luxurious screening room at The May Fair Hotel.
  • The Mayfair Sculpture Trail is back for its third edition and will run from 20 June – 31 July 2022. The Mayfair Sculpture Trail highlights the permanent public artworks of the area as well as showcases sculptures curated for the trail – the complete list of sculptures will be revealed in the next couple of weeks.

Boodle Hatfield is a founding partner of Mayfair Art Weekend and has proudly sponsored the initiative since 2014.
