Tom McLaughlin chairs Employment Lawyers Association seminar on Middle East employment disputes

Employment Partner, Tom McLaughlin recently chaired an Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) seminar exploring employment disputes in the Middle East, an area of increasing interest to English employment lawyers.
Several financial free zones in the region, including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), apply legal frameworks that are based on or heavily influenced by English law.
Tom was joined by Ed Kemp KC, who has appeared in a number of significant employment cases across the region, and Emily Aryeetey, co-head of Stephenson Harwood’s Middle East employment practice, to discuss a range of employment law issues, including statutory protections for employees, post-termination restrictive covenants and team move disputes.
The seminar was organised by ELA’s International Committee, of which Tom is a member, and was hosted by Matrix Chambers.
