Andrea Zavos speaks at Trusts and Estates Litigation Forum
Written by
Senior Partner, Andrea Zavos will speak at the upcoming Trusts and Estates Litigation Forum on Wednesday 4 February in a session titled 'New Sources of Liability'.
She will be joined by Basil Zirinis of Sullivan & Cromwell, Johannes Gasser of Gasser Partner Rechtsanwälte and Simon Davies of Ogier.
In this session, the panel will examine the increasing scrutiny placed on trustees, focusing not only on the decisions they make but also on the consequences of failing to act when circumstances demand it. As global instability and economic pressure intensify expectations, trustees adopting a passive approach during challenging periods are increasingly exposed to criticism and potential liability.
The discussion will address several emerging areas of risk, including criminal investigations affecting trust assets, persistent privacy concerns, governance failures, and recent contentious decisions from jurisdictions such as Guernsey and Liechtenstein. Together, these developments highlight a rapidly shifting landscape in which trustees, advisers and litigators must navigate heightened complexity and uncertainty.
