Charitable Support & Community Engagement

We have a long history of charitable support and community engagement. It is imperative to the firm that we give back to our local communities, principally Southwark, as positively as possible.

We have a charity that we support across the firm every year. Our current charity partner is St Mungo’s, a charity working primarily in London and other parts of England to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

St Mungo’s supports people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, providing help from the point of crisis through to longer-term recovery. Their work combines compassionate, practical and specialist support to help people move away from the streets and towards greater stability, independence and hope.

Each year, St Mungo’s supports thousands of people across England, offering vital services to those facing some of the most complex challenges. These include street outreach, temporary and longer-term accommodation, mental health and substance misuse support, skills training and employment pathways, helping people rebuild their lives and move forward with confidence.

In previous years, we have supported Royal Trinity Hospice, the Felix Project, Redthread, The Rainbow Trust, Mind, Youth at Risk, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Dementia UK, amongst others.

Our Charities Committee runs a range of fundraising activities across the firm each year including an annual Bake-Off, Quiz night, Christmas raffle and other entertaining activities that bring the firm together. The Charities Committee also organises an annual sponsored event, which has seen staff skydive, climb the Cutty Sark’s rig and hike the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

We are active in our local community through Southwark Education Alliance and run workshops with secondary school children.

Every person at Boodle Hatfield is encouraged to get involved with charitable support.

The firm has dedicated 24 hours per person a year to enable them to volunteer their time during the working day to give back.

Many departments are using this as a way to unite their teams across a common cause, organising group volunteering activities.
