Financial advice is often presented as a great career for women because its flexibility makes it possible to work while bringing up a family. This will have massive appeal to career changers who may be looking to return to work once their children start school, for example.
Family lawyers who deal with wealthy women in situations like divorce often refer these clients to female financial advisers. Some prefer to be advised by a woman, particularly if they are undergoing an emotionally traumatic event such as a divorce.
Emily commented: “The advisers I refer my clients to are all female. Women often feel more comfortable with a female adviser. It’s possibly easier for them to ask questions that they feel embarrassed to ask.”
