Boodle Hatfield advises on Flat Iron Square music venue

Boodle Hatfield has advised Mumford & Sons band member Ben Lovett on the creation of a new music venue, Omeara, at Flat Iron Square, Southwark.

Boodle Hatfield advised Lovett Enterprises on the recent letting of the Flat Iron Square arches to be run as a new music venue called Omeara. Omeara opens its doors on 19 October with a special gig headlined by the Pretenders later in the week.

Lovett Enterprises, owned by Mumford & Sons band member Ben Lovett, has fitted out the venue to host live music, club nights, comedy, cabaret, talks and events.

Flat Iron Square, part of a new South Bank development called the ‘Low Line’ connecting London Bridge with Waterloo, is a complex that includes six railway arches and the Grade II listed Devonshire House. Flat Iron Square, owned by Network Rail, will include new restaurants and bars.

The Boodle Hatfield team was led by Property Partner Andrew Wilmot-Smith, supported by Solicitor Sophie Henwood.

Andrew said: “This is a genuinely exciting and vibrant scheme on the Southbank. Lovett’s vision is to stop the tide of closures of smaller music venues where he and his bandmates began their phenomenally successful career. We are delighted to have played a role in this scheme.”
