We believe that it is vitally important that
our trainees join a firm which 'feels right' for them. We therefore
run our Vacation Scheme to provide you with an insight into the way
Boodle Hatfield operates and what it would be like for you to work
here.

"Our two week Vacation Scheme takes place during July and we
accept approximately 8 applicants each year."
What can I expect?
The Scheme will give you a taster of life at Boodle Hatfield.
You will spend time working with partners, fee earners and
trainees, which will allow you to gain an understanding of how a
legal working environment operates and to see the types of work
that we do at Boodle Hatfield.
The scheme is designed to allow you to get the best out of your
placement: you will experience work in two separate departments and
sit alongside our fee-earners in the office. You may be involved in
carrying out research for a client, taken to client meetings or be
given a chance to meet counsel.
We also want you to have the chance to really get to know us. We
therefore organise some social activities during the two weeks with
people in the firm so you can experience the social side of the
firm. Typically this will include dinner and drinks with trainees,
bowling, softball or a boat tour of London and a lunch with the
Partners.
What do you look for?
Applications are welcome from both law and non- law students.
The earliest an application can be made for our Vacation Scheme is
your penultimate year of your Law degree or final year of your
degree for non-law students. We will give precedence to applicants
who already have, or are expecting to attain a degree no lower than
class 2:1 and to those who have obtained a minimum of ABB at
A-Level. We will also give precedence to those wishing to apply for
a training contract to start in 2015 with Boodle Hatfield.
The Application Process for the Vacation Scheme
We will begin accepting applications for our Summer 2014
Vacation Scheme from 1 November 2013. Please refer to the website
from this date if you would like to submit an application.
All applications are viewed by the Graduate Recruitment team
once the deadline has passed. If your application is shortlisted,
we will then conduct a telephone interview with you at a mutually
convenient time. We offer approximately 30 interviews each
year.
Open Day
Our Vacation Scheme is very popular and we cannot offer all good
candidates a place. We therefore also run an Open Day for those who
cannot attend the vacation scheme to allow a few more students to
spend some time in the office. The Open Day is a way of providing
an in-depth insight into our working environment and provides a
chance for you to ask any questions that you might have.
The day's programme includes presentations on all of our
departments by Trainees or junior fee earners which will enable you
to gain an understanding as to what it is really like as a Trainee
and the work that you are likely to be involved in. You will be
able to participate in workshops have the chance to meet some
partners in the Firm over lunch, and chat to trainees over a drink
at the end of the day.
