Community and corporate social responsibility
We try to make a difference by the way that we conduct our
business: we support initiatives that contribute to the good of the
community, contribute financially to selected charitable causes and
adopt environmentally friendly working practices.
Fundraising

Each year, within the firm, we select a Charity of the Year to
be the recipient of our fund raising activities.
This year we are supporting the Alzheimer's Society,
the leading UK care and research charity for people with this
disease and other dementias, their families and carers.
In previous years we have supported CHARM, Shooting Star Chase,
Help for Heroes, St Christopher's Hospice and Breast
Cancer.
In the last year our activities have ranged from the fiercely
contested 'Boodle's got Talent' competition, a 'Virtual walk to
Helmand' and a 10k run on Clapham Common and a sponsored cycle ride
from Brussels to Amsterdam.
In addition, we regularly sponsor members of the firm to
participate in events such as the London Marathon, the Caledonian
Challenge (where one of our solicitors completed 54 miles across
Scotland in under 12 hours) and a property industry
Triathlon.
The firm also has a give-as-you-earn scheme which allows staff
to make tax free donations from their salary to any charity or
voluntary organisation in the UK.
Volunteering and pro bono activities
We are keen to support our people becoming involved in a variety
of community initiatives from working with local schools to
providing pro bono advice to local charities and trusts. For
example, recently we have undertaken pro bono work for the National
Centre for Domestic Violence, helping victims of domestic violence
obtain injunctions against abusive partners.
