Boodle Hatfield's double for Wildmoor Properties

Boodle Hatfield has advised Wildmoor Properties on a retail park refinancing in North London and shopping precinct acquisition in Brighton.

The firm advised a Wildmoor company on the £46 million refinance by Britannia Building Society of the Arena Retail Park in Haringey, North London. The refinancing was completed in early February 2006. Addleshaw Goddard acted for Britannia.

The Arena Retail Park site assembly began in 1998 with the site being purchased in 2002. The site reached practical completion on August 2005. The scheme is anchored by Homebase with other tenants including Next, Sportsworld and the Car Phone Warehouse.

The firm also advised a Wildmoor company on the £6.1 million acquisition of a shopping precinct in Brighton from B2 Retail Limited, also completed in early February. Berwin Leighton Paisner acted for B2.

Helen Streeton, a partner in Boodle Hatfield's commercial property developments team, led the teams that advised Wildmoor on both transactions. Helen was assisted by Nisha Shukla on the acquisition in Brighton and by Christina Christou on the refinancing in Haringey.

Helen Streeton comments: "I have been involved with the Arena Retail Park project in Haringey for the past eight years. We are delighted to be retained by Wildmoor and to see the project completed, and the Park become a successful retail centre."
